The Faculty of Medicine offers student-researcher mandates for its bachelor (excluding the first year of the first cycle of studies) and master students in order to stimulate their involvement in biomedical research.

The number of terms is determined each year by the Dean according to the budget allocated. They are attributed for one academic year and, in principle, begin on July 1 and end on May 31.

They may be renewed for the duration of the studies. To this end, an application for renewal, drawn up according to the attached model, must be submitted each year to the attention of the Dean.

These student-researcher mandates are financed thanks to the support of the Fondation hopitalo-universaitaire Léon Fredericq.

Application forms

All applications must be submitted to the Faculty by a member of the academic body (including heads of department of the CHU who are not members of the ULiège academic body) or by a member of the permanent scientific staff (including permanent representatives of the FNRS and members of the permanent staff of the CHU).

Two forms exist depending on the type of candidacy: either a candidacy for a first mandate or a request for renewal.

Submission of applications

Generally, the call for applications is opened in early March. It closes at the end of April. There is no deadline for receipt of an application.

For the 2022-2023 academic year, all applications and requests for reappointment must

  • be submitted by noon on April 29, 2022;
  • be sent, in Word format (.doc or .docx), by e-mail to Mrs. FRARE ;
  • be deposited (original file), at the Secretariat of Academic Affairs with Mrs. FRARE.

Selection

All applications are examined by the Faculty Standing Committee on Research, which establishes a ranking taking into account the different fields of study and research themes of the Faculty.

The Faculty Standing Committee on Research then selects the candidates according to the number of available mandates (first mandates and renewals).

All candidates (selected or not) will be informed of the selection during the month of June.

Successful candidates will be presented at the PROJECTS evening organized by the Léon Fredericq Foundation.
