Studying at the university means you'll be confronted with a very different type of teaching, volume of material and pace of work from what you experienced during your secondary education. So it's important to be prepared for these changes.

Studying in the Faculty of Medicine also requires a solid grounding in the sciences from your secondary education. In fact, whichever course of study you choose, basic science courses (biology, physics, chemistry and mathematics) will play a particularly important role in your first year.

In medicine and dentistry, the decree relating to the organization of studies in the health sector reserves access to the first cycle of studies to holders of a certificate of successful completion of an entrance examination . So, before you start your university studies, it's essential to master the concepts that are essential to success in the subjects covered by this entrance examination. As these concepts have been taught throughout your secondary education, it is particularly important to reacquaint yourself with them. It's only by preparing thoroughly and thoroughly that you'll be in the best possible position to pass the entrance exam, and to make the best possible start to your future studies in medicine or dentistry.

From January onwards, you'll be able to start preparatory activities in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology at different times of the year. These are organized by the ULiège Faculty of Medicine in close collaboration with the Faculty of Science. Specifically designed to help you pass the exam, they will of course enable you to review all the material. Other preparatory activities will also be offered during the year to improve your skills in ethics, empathy, communication and reasoning.

Preparatory activities will also enable you to develop important skills such as self-evaluation and autonomy. These activities are also a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the university, its setting, its requirements, its teaching methods, its evaluation methods, and to meet the professors and teaching assistants who will support you during your first year.

The preparatory courses are also an opportunity to familiarize yourself with eCampus, ULiège's e-learning platform. It is used by many medical and dental professors as part of their Bachelor's and Master's courses.

Thanks to this platform, the ULiège Faculty of Medicine has been offering online preparatory courses since 2014. This long experience has enabled us to calmly organize the transposition of all courses to an online formula when the health crisis linked to COVID-19 suddenly imposed itself in March 2020. This health crisis also prompted us to further develop our online preparatory course offering, with the aim of providing a complete preparatory training package to an ever-increasing number of candidates.

This year, we are pleased to offer you preparation packages in the form of 'all-in packs', some of which will enable you to revise all subjects online.
