The teaching in the Medicine program is multidisciplinary and, from the first bachelor's block, involves contextualized situations in the form of clinical cases, which give a concrete meaning to the basic sciences. The analysis of these cases leads the student to learn and understand the subject by himself. It is a matter of "getting into the skin of a doctor" and thus, little by little, learning to reason like one. In this way, the student is led in a concrete and efficient way to recognize symptoms and to make a diagnosis.

Bachelor and Master

  • The first term  of the Bachelor of Medicine is devoted to the acquisition of fundamental skills. It includes three basic science modules (biology, chemistry and physics) as well as the Scientific approach and First aid courses.
  • The 2nd term is devoted to the acquisition of basic sciences of pre-clinical skills. It includes biomedical courses (biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, histology), as well as cross-disciplinary courses (in particular Health and Society), reinforced by subject integration seminars.
  • Block 2 and the first term of the program planned for block 3 (term 3 to term 5): normal man and general principles of pathology
  • From term 6 :diseases and the patient
  • From term 6 (the second semester of the Bachelor's degree program) to term 9 (Master's degree block 1 and the first semester of the Master's degree program block 2), medical training is devoted to diseases (i.e. the study of pathologies) and includes
    • teaching activities in the form of ex cathedra courses, broken down into modules centered on anatomical systems (the teaching is coordinated by nosological entity: thus, for example, myocardial infarction is taught in the same period of a few days by the anatomopathologist, the cardiologist, the cardiovascular surgeon and the pharmacologist)
    • hospital internships
    • practical work
    • Clinical Reasoning Skills (CRS) and Complex Problem Solving (CPS) seminars

These activities cover all medical disciplines.

  • From term 10 onwards (second quadrennium of the Master's program), training focuses on the patient. It includes compulsory internships and internships chosen by the students for their subsequent specialization (Master of Specialization in General Medicine or in Specialized Medicine), courses and seminars in Complex Problem Solving (CPS).

Students are also required to write a final paper.
