The Motor Sciences offer a forward-looking training program focusing on human physical activity, in relation to performance and/or well-being and health. Indispensable for individual development, these aspects are intimately linked to the current evolution of our society.

University training in motor sciences is geared towards jobs that focus not only on education (teaching physical education, supervising groups at sports camps, psychomotricity, etc.), but also on the quest for sporting excellence (high-level training and physical preparation) and reconditioning activities (sedentary, elderly, disabled, obese, etc.).

It therefore trains future professionals capable of organizing and supervising physical and sporting activities adapted to all populations, in a well-thought-out and optimal way.

Bachelor's degree

The Bachelor's degree in Motor Sciences provides an understanding of the processes involved in physical activity and sport. The program for the first three quarters of the year is designed to combine solid scientific training, physical education and intensive practical work. Based on the life sciences, it provides the foundations needed to understand the specific courses offered later. From Block 1 of the bachelor's degree onwards, courses are targeted to the purpose of the studies and future professional practice.

From term 4 onwards (the second term in the Block 2 program), courses are organized by theme (modules), focusing on the functioning of the normal human being in motion (modules centered on anatomical systems: physiology, biochemistry, histology).

Alongside this biomedical training, the bachelor's program includes specific courses in motor sciences, organized around three axes:

  • intervention (pedagogical action in different practice contexts),
  • training (improving physical performance),
  • management (sports organization and management).

Master's degree

Students can choose between several "120-credit" Master's programs, grouped into two orientations (general and physical education). Each includes theoretical courses, practical activities and internships specific to the targeted professional goals. They culminate in the presentation of a dissertation based on personal research, which reinforces the scientific nature of the training.

  • Master's degree in motor sciences, with a focus on physical education , which prepares students to teach physical and health education in secondary schools (a gateway is possible to obtain a diploma enabling students to teach in primary schools as well). The aim of this course is to acquire the skills needed to become a teacher capable of training tomorrow's adults to adopt an active lifestyle.
  • Master's degree in motor sciences, general orientation,
    • in-depth, focusing on preparation for research in fields specific to motor sciences (exercise physiology, sports pedagogy, etc.).
    • specialized in sports physiotherapy (only available to graduates in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and requires Jury authorization).
